Škoda Auto has unveiled the Škoda Vision Gran Turismo, an all-electric concept car specifically designed for the PlayStation game Gran Turismo 7, marking the brand’s adventurous step into the e-racing arena. This virtual racing vehicle draws its aesthetic inspiration from the iconic 1957 Škoda 1100 OHC Spider and integrates Škoda’s contemporary Modern Solid design philosophy.
With a robust assembly of four electric motors, the Škoda Vision Gran Turismo boasts a formidable 800 kW power output, facilitating all-wheel drive. This strategic move into digital motorsports not only underlines Škoda’s commitment to innovation and digitalization but also celebrates its extensive and successful history in motorsports.
Located in Mladá Boleslav, Škoda Auto’s venture into one of the PlayStation’s most renowned racing simulations represents its first entry with the Škoda Vision Gran Turismo. Specially crafted for the game’s Vision category, this fully electric single-seater is designed to captivate both seasoned gamers and newcomers to the brand.
The car’s design pays homage to the Škoda 1100 OHC Spider, originally built to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Features like a split rear wing, T-shaped headlights, and the sleek Explorer Green matte finish are all nods to both past and future design directions. With four motors delivering a combined 800 kW and 1,020 Nm of torque, paired with active aerodynamics, the car promises unparalleled performance on any virtual track.
The Škoda Vision Gran Turismo features a sharp, futuristic design with pronounced edges and active aerodynamic components. It offers two paint finishes: a homage to the Škoda 130 RS and the signature Explorer Green.
