London, 16 January 2025 – INEOS Automotive has kicked off the year with a strong start, as its Hambach production facility roars back to life following a brief hiatus. The pause, necessitated by a supplier insolvency that disrupted seat production, ended with a timely resolution. Now, the facility is once again rolling out Grenadier and Quartermaster 4x4s, with the first vehicles already en route to retailers in 50 countries worldwide.
Lynn Calder, CEO of INEOS Automotive, expressed her optimism for the year ahead:
“This is a great start to the year for us, one I strongly believe will be our best yet and will build on the more than 40% growth year over year we achieved in 2024. We are so proud to have more than 20,000 Grenadiers on the roads and trails around the world.”
Calder highlighted the increasing demand from key markets like Mexico and China, which were launched late in 2024, as contributing factors to the brand’s growth trajectory. With the production lines humming once again, Calder acknowledged the challenge of meeting pent-up demand:
“We’ve got some catching up to do, but we’re up for the challenge.”
A Milestone Year for Hambach
The Hambach facility, now in its third year of Grenadier production, marks its return with the first vehicle off the line on January 16th—a Scottish White Utility Wagon (5-seat) headed for southern France. Joining this was a pair of vehicles in Devil Red, a bold new exterior color introduced as the eleventh shade for the Grenadier Station Wagon and Quartermaster lineup.
The addition of Devil Red reflects INEOS Automotive’s commitment to evolving its offerings. Customers can pair this solid red with either a white or black contrast roof, adding a fresh aesthetic to the robust lineup.
Also new for 2025 is the Grenadier 1924 Belstaff Centenary Edition. Limited to just 1,924 units, this special edition celebrates Belstaff’s storied heritage, combining lifestyle-focused accessories with premium design elements. It caters to customers who desire timeless, durable style alongside the Grenadier’s rugged substance.

Preparing for Future Growth
While Grenadier production paused briefly in late 2024, Hambach was far from idle. The plant saw the dismantling of its smart ForTwo production line, freeing up valuable space for future INEOS product development. Philippe Steyer, President of INEOS Automotive SAS, noted the resilience shown by the team during the disruption:
“We’re very grateful for the patience of our customers, suppliers, and production teams as we worked through a difficult situation. Our Hambach facility is a testament to the grit and rigour that underpins INEOS, reopening the doors ready to build on the solid foundations laid last year.”
A Global Success Story
INEOS Automotive’s commitment to quality and growth is evident in its robust performance. The Grenadier and Quartermaster are now sold in 50 countries, with Mexico and China providing significant new opportunities. Calder emphasized the significance of this milestone:
“Hearing the familiar ‘toot’ of vehicles rolling through quality checks again is heartening. It signals a return to full strength, just as demand for our vehicles reaches new heights.”
As Hambach ramps up production, INEOS Automotive’s focus on innovation, resilience, and customer satisfaction ensures it will continue to carve its path as a formidable player in the global 4×4 market.
